First-Order Formalism and Thick Branes in Mimetic Gravity

چکیده

In this paper, we investigate thick branes generated by a scalar field in mimetic gravity theory, which is inspired considering the conformal symmetry under transformation of an auxiliary metric. By introducing two super-potentials, transform second-order equations system into set first-order equations. With formalism, several types analytical brane solutions are obtained. Then, tensor and perturbations analyzed. We find that both kinds stable. The effective potentials for dual to each other. zero mode can be localized on while cannot. Thus, four-dimensional Newtonian potential recovered brane.

Thick branes and 4D gravity

The induced 4d gravity on a brane world is analyzed. The case of a thick brane is considered and the unexpected appearance of a new threshold scale, much larger than the thickness scale is found. In cases of phenomenological interest, this new length scale turns out to be in the submillimeter range. The effect of R corrections, both in the bulk and on the brane, is also studied. It is shown tha...

Gravity localization on thick branes: a numerical approach

We introduce a numerical procedure to investigate the spectrum of massive modes and its contribution for gravity localization on thick branes. After considering a model with an analytically known Schroedinger potential, we present the method and discuss its applicability. With this procedure we can study several models even when the Schroedinger potential is not known analytically. We discuss b...

Remarks on Quantum Aspects of 3D-Gravity in the First-Order Formalism

In this paper, we reassess the issue of working out the propagators and identifying the spectrum of excitations associated to the vielbein and spin connection of (1+2)-D gravity in the presence of torsion by adopting the first-order formulation. A number of peculiarities is pointed out whenever the Chern-Simons term is taken into account along with the possible bilinear terms in the torsion ten...

Fermion Masses and Mixing in Thick Branes

Fermion masses and mixing, both in the quark and leptonic sector, are discussed within the approach to the Yukawa puzzle proposed by Arkani-Hamed and Schmaltz. In the quark sector we have shown that at least two extra dimensions are necessary in order to obtain sufficient CP violation, while reproducing the correct quark mass spectrum and mixing angles. We have also studied the consequences of ...
